WHO WOULD BE THE AUDIENCE FOR YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT?
- The opening sequence does not hint at any scenes that would be deemed inappropriate for an audience 12 or older to view as although a threat is signified, no physical harm or glorification of unnacceptable behaviour is shown (information obtained from www.bbfc.co.uk)
- I would expect the audience however to be of slightly older teenagers/ young adults as my questionnaire research was based on results from an average of 16 and 17 year olds so my product was originally planned to suit their preferred answers
- The hint at possible gang culture or a physical threat to the character fits more into the genre of an action/ chase based thriller, possibly suiting a male audience more.
Films such as The Tourist (Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck, 2010)
also have the 12a rating, an action based plot with a lighter theme in constrast to other thrillers.
Another film that has a teenage based cast whilst having certain differences to my film is The Spiderwick Chronicles (Mark Waters, 2008)
This film has a rating PG however it has a more fiction based plot in the theme of mythical creatures meaning the audience would be slightly younger than intended for my product.
